Two people were killed early Friday morning in a wrong-way crash on the Rochester Inner Loop.

According to New York State Police, the three-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 1:26 a.m.

A preliminary investigation determined that a 2024 Honda CR-V, driven by a 39-year-old woman, was traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes of the Inner Loop when it collided head-on with an eastbound 2012 Ford Fusion.

The Ford was being driven by a 21-year-old man and also carried a 21-year-old male passenger. State Police said both men were pronounced dead at the scene.

Following the initial collision, the Ford Fusion entered the path of a 2012 Jeep Liberty driven by 29-year-old Marvin Harmon of Rochester, resulting in a second crash.

The woman driving the Honda became unresponsive at the scene and was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

Harmon was treated at the scene before being taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Monroe County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene and has ordered autopsies for the two victims.

The New York State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit processed the scene and is continuing to investigate the crash.

The names of the two deceased victims have not yet been released pending family notification.
