An event later this month will help Cayuga County residents be prepared when disaster strikes.

The New York Citizen Preparedness Training Program instructs residents on how to prepare for disasters, both natural and man-made. Participants will learn how to develop a family emergency plan and what supplies to stock up on.

Each family that attends the class will receive a preparedness kit.

The class will be held at 6:00p on April 29 at the Scipio Fire Department, 3550 Route 34, Scipio Center.

Registration is required to attend the event. Registration can be done here.
