Residents, Business Owners Provide Feedback on Proposed Land Annexation in Yates County

SHARE NOW

A recent public hearing held in the village of Penn Yan centered on the proposed annexation into the village of 72 acres of land on Old Route 14A currently located within the town of Milo. The land at 2442 Old Route 14A, the former McFetridge farm, is located out back of Tractor Supply.  It is owned by the Finger Lakes Economic Development Center and is being considered for development into mixed affordable housing. Development Center CEO Steve Griffin said both sides were heard on the issue.

Steve said those against the project generally had two primary concerns.

Steve said those in favor of the possibility of mixed affordable housing being developed on the land shared why they like the idea.

Griffin said the next step will be for the village of Penn Yan trustees and Milo Town Board to separately vote on the land annexation. Dates for the votes have not yet been scheduled.
