Drivers traveling on State Route 332 in Ontario County should expect lane restrictions beginning next week as a state paving project gets underway.
The New York State Department of Transportation announced that starting Monday, Route 332 will be reduced to one lane in each direction between North Street in the Town of Canandaigua and Loomis Road/Gateway Drive in the Town of Farmington.
The lane restrictions will be in effect weekdays from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. while crews complete pavement improvements. The project is expected to continue through August 21.
Motorists are advised to expect travel delays and consider alternate routes when possible.
DOT also reminds drivers to slow down and use caution in work zones. Under New York law, fines are doubled for speeding in work zones, and drivers convicted of two or more work zone speeding violations could face suspension of their driver’s license.
