Five Injured in Head-On Crash in Ovid Area

Two vehicles show extensive damage following a head-on collision in the Ovid area, which resulted in five injuries.

Five people were injured in a two-vehicle head-on crash this morning on County Road 131, just south of Combs Road, in Ovid.

Emergency crews were dispatched at approximately 6:49 a.m. by Seneca County E-911. Responders included the Seneca County Sheriff’s Department, South Seneca Ambulance, and fire departments from Ovid, Lodi, and Interlaken. Additional mutual aid ambulances from Trumansburg and Bangs also assisted at the scene.

Officials reported that five patients were evaluated and transported to Cayuga Medical Center and Geneva General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Meek’s and Route 89 Auto removed the damaged vehicles. The Town of Ovid Highway Department and Seneca County Highway crews treated and cleared the roadway following the incident.
