The Ontario Women’s Civic Club celebrated a major milestone last week, marking its 80th anniversary while recognizing its long-standing commitment to serving residents across western Wayne County.
Founded in 1946, the organization provides a variety of community services, including operating the Ontario Loan Closet, which offers medical equipment to residents in Ontario, Walworth, Union Hill, and Williamson.
The club also supports local students through an annual scholarship awarded to a graduating Wayne Central senior who has demonstrated exceptional community service beyond the volunteer hours required by the school.
This year’s scholarship was presented to Isabella Venture in recognition of her dedication to serving the community.
Club members celebrated the organization’s eight decades of service during an anniversary event held Thursday, highlighting its continued mission of meeting local needs through volunteerism, charitable giving, and community support.
