Could federal funds help with the redevelopment of the Willard Drug Treatment Center in Romulus?

Congresswoman Claudia Tenney was on FLX Morning Thursday. She said House Community Project Funding could help with the redevelopment.

“What we look to do is direct those funds to places that we can enhance and Willard is certainly a top site,” Tenney said on the program. “It’s been brought to our attention and we’re certainly going to continue to look at the ways that we can use this facility.”

The campus was closed in March 2022 and the Seneca County Industrial Development Agency is working with the MRB Group to find the best and highest use for the 475 acres including about a mile of Seneca Lakefront property.
