You can now add two Ontario County Walmart stores to the growing list of Walmarts in the region where credit card skimmers have been found. Similar to the other cases in Seneca Falls, Auburn, and throughout Central New York, police in Ontario County are looking for two men and a woman seen on security video installing the devices at the Walmarts in Geneva and Canandaigua. Police say the skimmers were installed on point-of-sale card readers at those two stores on July 2nd and were discovered three days later.
Here is a photo provided by the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office of the trio at the Canandaigua Walmart on July 2nd:

Police are now investigating credit card skimmers found in 8-Walmart stores.
Police are looking for two men and a woman seen on security video installing the devices in Ganby, East Syracuse, Camillus, Auburn, and Oswego.
News Channel 9 and LocalSYR.com report the skimmers have also now been found in Walmart stores in Cortlandville, Central Square, and Seneca Falls. The Seneca Falls skimmer was on register # 10.
Auburn Police yesterday released more details on the credit card skimmer that was discovered at the Auburn Walmart. The device was found at register # 2 on Wednesday, July 5th. It was installed at around 8 a.m. Sunday, July 2nd.
Police say customers who used the register during that time should check their banking history and notify their bank so actions can be taken to protect the account.
