School Superintendent Terri Bavis will stay in her job in Waterloo.
Bavis was one of two finalists for the superintendents job in the Dansville School District, but the district has decided to reopen their search for a new school chief later next year.
The Livingston County News reports the Dansville Board of Education did not say why it was reopening the search. In a Facebook post of the district website, the board said the action came “following much thought and deliberation.” The search will resume in January with the goal of appointing someone in the spring.
Bavis has come under fire after Waterloo voters rejected the school budget. The spending plan was defeated twice by a total of nine votes, and Waterloo is now operating on a contingency budget.
