A local man faces up to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty in federal court to stealing more than a quarter-of-a-million dollars from a Yates County winery.
The Finger Lakes Times reports Michael Stein admitted to taking over $228,000 while working as the office manager and bookkeeper at the former Villa Bellangelo, now known as Missick Cellars. The crimes occurred between November 2018 to March 2022.
The Waterloo man will be sentenced on his wire fraud conviction on May 22nd.
