Firefighters from three counties battled a house fire in Seneca Falls early Sunday morning.
The call for a fire at 4 Mechanic Street came in just after 3 a.m.
When the first firefighters arrived on the scene, the flames were shooting through the roof of the home. Problems with a fire hydrant in front of the home also hampered the effort to put the fire out.
It took Seneca Falls, Waterloo, Fayette, Canoga, and Geneva firefighters about 90 minutes to bring the fire under control. Clyde was called into the standby at the Seneca Falls Fire Station.
No injuries were reported, as the structure was unoccupied and still under construction at the time of the fire. However, the building was declared a total loss.
The Seneca County Fire Investigation Team is looking for the cause of the fire.
