The recently launched Seneca County Local Development Corporation has elected Heather Robson as its Chair.
The Seneca County Local Development Corporation (LDC) is a countywide economic development agency, focused on the development and advancement of the County’s economic development strategy, and facilitating the redevelopment of key properties throughout the County.
The LDC held its inaugural meeting in March, at which they received a briefing on their official charge from the Board of Supervisors, and reviewed and approved policies and procedures to ensure compliance with best practices and New York State public authorities law. The Board received strategic and operating guidance from the County, which challenged the new agency to tackle complex economic challenges and opportunities for growth.
Board members were selected by the Board of Supervisors, based on a broad base of experience in key economic sectors across the County. Inaugural Board members include Heather Robson, Ave Bauder, Laura Ortiz, John Bell, Russell Goodman, Dan Lagasse, and Kraig vonHahmann. Members serve initial staggered terms of one to three years. The LDC Board elected Robson as its Chair. She is the current assessor for the Town of Manchester
“Seneca County has a sound base of economic assets,” said Robson. “The LDC will work collaboratively with local and regional partners to mobilize those assets and promote investment and a business-friendly environment in the County.”
Board of Supervisors Chairman Mike Enslow, noted “The Board of Supervisors has prioritized efforts that will catalyze investment in Seneca County. The establishment of the Local Development Corporation provides Seneca County with another tool to accelerate high-quality development in communities across the County.”
The group is set to next meet at the Lyons National Bank Community Room in Waterloo on May 1st at 5:30. All meetings are open to the public.
