Second Person Arrested After Child Exposed to Drugs in Wayne County

SHARE NOW

A second person has been charged in connection with a Wayne County child being hospitalized last week after they were exposed to a controlled substance at a home in Savannah during an alleged domestic incident.

A search of the Wilsey Road home by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office allegedly turned up controlled substances. On Saturday, 40-year-old Emily Taylor was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, endangering the welfare of a child and two counts of assault.

Taylor was released following her arraignment.

The other suspect, 54-year-old William Smith was arrested on similar charges on Thursday and remains at the Wayne County Jail.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
