Report: Palmyra Man Pleads Not Guilty to Attempted Drowning of Mother

SHARE NOW

The Wayne County man accused of trying to drown his mother and her dogs in a bathtub has been released on bail after pleading not guilty in court.

At the time of the May 13th incident, Takota Spencer told police he was “releasing demons” from his mom’s body when he attempted to drown her at her Palmyra home. Police say Spencer also destroyed his mom’s phone to prevent her from calling for help and assaulted an off-duty deputy who tried to intervene once on the scene.

Spencer is charged with unlawful imprisonment, reckless endangerment, and resisting arrest.

The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
