A Wayne County man is facing several charges after he allegedly tried to drown his mother and her dogs.
The Palmyra Police Department responded on May 13th to a home on Gates Street for the report of a person who was trying to drown his mom and her dogs. Police say 21-year-old Takota Spencer forcibly restrained his mother, putting his hand over her mouth and nose while trying to submerge her in a bathtub full of water in an attempt to “release the demons” from her body.
Once his mother freed herself, Spencer allegedly tried to drown her dogs.
Spencer was arrested and charged with unlawful imprisonment, reckless endangerment, criminal mischief, criminal obstruction of breathing, harassment and resisting arrest. He remains in custody at the Wayne County Jail pending an evaluation and arraignment.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
