Medical Event Believed to Have Caused Fatal Victor Accident

One person is dead following a Friday motor vehicle accident in Ontario County.

Sheriff’s Deputies report the incident happened at the Eastview Mall in Victor just after noon. Deputies responded to the reported accident when they found an unresponsive man in the driver’s seat of a 2009 Toyota Camry.

They were able to remove Athimoottil Matthew from the vehicle and performed life-saving measures until an ambulance arrived. The 87-year-old Penfield man was taken via ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead around 1:15p.

At this time, it’s believed Matthew suffered a medical event.
