“I’m Stuck” owner David Tulley was scheduled to appear in the Wayne County court on Wednesday, but instead he and his employees showed up in the park across the street from the courthouse in Lyons and handed out free marijuana edibles.
Tulley’s court appearance was adjourned as his attorney and state officials move his case through the legal system. The state Attorney General’s Office placed an order of protection meaning Tulley cannot open any of his stores prior to the next hearing, which is set for September 6th.
Tulley maintains the state’s pot laws are unconstitutional.
New York Attorney General Letitia James, Governor Kathy Hochul, and the Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) shut down seven of Tulley’s unlicensed cannabis dispensaries in Cayuga, Oswego, and Wayne counties on Monday. The stores are the first to be shut down in New York State. Tulley says he will one day have the largest marijuana company in the country.
According to the AG’s Office, the unlicensed dispensary chain, “I’m Stuck” — which had eight locations in Upstate New York — was illegally selling cannabis without the proper authorization from OCM and selling cannabis to underage customers.
Tulley’s stores in Auburn, Lyons, Macedon, Ontario, Pulaski, and Williamson were shut down with the assistance and support of the New York State Police.
