Fire crews responded to a structure fire late Tuesday night at a home in the Town of Gorham.
The Gorham Fire Department was dispatched around 11 p.m. to 4766 South Street for a reported house fire. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy flames at the rear of the residence. Crews launched an aggressive interior attack, successfully containing the blaze and preventing it from spreading further through the home.
The main body of fire was quickly knocked down, and a primary search of the residence was completed. A cat found inside the home was safely returned to its owner. No injuries were reported.
Following fire suppression efforts, firefighters conducted extensive overhaul operations to ensure the fire was fully extinguished.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Ontario County Office of Emergency Management.
