Four months after being fired as Seneca County manager, Kyle Lovell is now the city manager in the Madison County of Oneida.

Lovell was appointed Seneca County Manager in August 2023 and then was placed on paid administrative leave in August 2024.

County officials cited “unforeseen circumstances” for letting Lovell go.  Lovell was paid $195,000 in severance upon his departure.

According to the Finger Lakes Times, Lovell cited several accomplishments during his brief tenure with Seneca County. They include spearheading positive inter- governmental relations with the Cayuga Indian Nation, managing an annual budget of $128 million, and delivering assistance to the Seneca County Industrial Development Agency and Chamber of Commerce by leading economic development initiatives for the former Willard Psychiatric Center campus and the former Seneca Army Depot.
