Shawn Jordan, a former police officer, was charged in connection with rape in Ontario County.

After admitting to having sex with a child who was under the age of 15 in 2022, a former Rochester Police Officer was sentenced for his crime in Ontario County Court Wednesday.

Shawn Jordan will spend the next 10 weekends in jail and 10 years on probation under a plea agreement reached back in March. Jordan admitted to having sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 15 during the summer of 2022 in South Bristol and touching that child’s intimate parts on a separate occasion during that same summer.

Back in March, Assistant Ontario County District Attorney Kelly Wolford praised the victim for her bravery in the case.

“Today a brave young girl who stood up and said Shawn Jordan raped me, received justice when Jordan admitted in open court to having sexual intercourse with her knowing she was under the age of 15,” said Wolford. “Unfortunately when adults sexually abuse teens it is rare for the adult to admit what they did. I am so proud of this amazing young girl for having the power to stand up for herself, particularly since her offender was a police officer. To hear Jordan in his own words admit what he did was a moment I wish every victim of child sexual assault could experience. Now, the true healing for this young child and her family can begin.”

Jordan still faces charges brought against him in Monroe County when he allegedly exposed himself to a 16-year-old during a video chat on Facebook Messenger.
