2024 has been an active year for Harmful Algal Blooms across the Fingerlakes; what does that mean for water quality? Two upcoming discussions in Auburn and Ovid will discuss just that.
Doctor Kim Schulz with SUNY ESF and Tony Prestigiacomo with the DEC will present at both events. Each event will also include local panels. Auburn’s panel will feature Doug Kierst, Cayuga Soil & Water Conservation District, Greg Rejman, Sunnyside Farms, Dan Welch, Cayuga CCE. Ovid’s panel will consist of Averell Bauder, Seneca CCE, Erin Peruzzini, Seneca Soil & Water Conservation District, Ben Austic, Austic Farm Partners, Stu Messur, Seneca Lake Pure Waters, and Jeremy Martin, J-Mar Farms
The Auburn event will take place from 4:30-7:00p on Tuesday, November 12, at Cayuga Community College’s auditorium. The Ovid event will take place from 6:00-8:00p on Monday, November 18, at the South Seneca Middle/Senior High School Auditorium.
