Cayuga and Wayne County Cannabis Businesses Raided

SHARE NOW

Two unlicensed marijuana businesses in Cayuga County and at least one in Wayne County were raided by law enforcement Tuesday and ordered by the state to cease sales.

Police and the state Office of Cannabis Management was posted signs in the doors of I’m Stuck at 9 E. Genesee St. in downtown Auburn and the Weed Warehouse on Crane Brook Drive in Aurelius.

The signs read: “Illicit cannabis has been seized and this location must immediately cease the sale of unapproved and unauthorized cannabis products.”

Both stores are owned by David Tulley of Lyons, he owns four others in Wayne County.

In Wayne County, Tulley faces criminal charges after police say he interfered several times during an investigation by conducted by the New York Office of Cannabis Management and the Department of Taxation and Finance at his store in Ontario. Tulley is accused of driving a car through an area closed off by police tape before entering the Route 104 building where officers were conducting an investigation and locking himself and the authorities inside in an attempt to interfere with their investigation.

Tulley was charged with obstruction and was released on an appearance ticket for Ontario Town Court.

It was not immediately known if his other locations in Wayne County were raided.

Tulley tells The Citizen he will fight Albany.

The stores operate under a loophole in the state marijuana law. They claim they are “marketing firms” and charge for consultations about cannabis giving marijuana away as gifts.
