Canandaigua Officials Emphasize Balance in Downtown Parking Approach

City officials in Canandaigua are reminding residents and visitors that parking downtown is free and, in most cases, unlimited.

City Manager John Goodwin says the City has worked to strike a balance with its parking regulations by offering long-term options for business owners, employees, and tenants, as well as shorter-term spaces for shoppers and diners.

“We enforce our parking regulations to maintain this balance and keep our Downtown vibrant,” Goodwin said, noting that all city parking is within a 3- to 5-minute walk of any downtown destination.

The City’s goal is to make downtown as accessible as possible while supporting turnover that benefits local businesses.
