Tompkins Cortland Community College and Ithaca College have announced a new dual admission agreement aimed at creating a streamlined pathway for students to earn both associate and bachelor’s degrees.

Under the agreement, students will be admitted to both institutions simultaneously, beginning their studies at TC3 before transferring seamlessly to Ithaca College after completing their associate degree.

The program will initially cover three academic pathways: health sciences, biology, and psychology.

College leaders from both institutions formally signed the agreement, including TC3 President Amy Kremenek and Ithaca College President La Jerne Terry Cornish, along with senior academic officials.

“This agreement presents an incredible avenue to earn an associate degree at TC3 and seamlessly continue on to finish a bachelor’s degree at IC,” Kremenek said, noting the long-standing collaboration between the two schools.

Students interested in the program will apply through TC3’s standard application process, with no separate application, fees, or deposit required for Ithaca College. Once enrolled, students will receive joint advising from both institutions to help guide them through their coursework and transition.

After transferring to Ithaca College, students in the program will also receive significant financial support, including scholarships ranging from at least $15,000 up to $36,000 per year.

Ithaca College President Cornish said the partnership is designed to expand access and opportunity for students.

“This partnership helps us meet students where they are—expanding access and creating new possibilities,” she said. “Together, we are creating a clear, supported pathway for students to move forward with confidence.”

The agreement includes the following degree pathways:

  • Health Science (A.S.) to Health Sciences (B.S.)
  • Psychology and Social Science (A.S.) to Psychology (B.S.)
  • Biology (A.S.) to Biological Sciences (B.S. or B.A.)

Officials say the partnership reflects a shared commitment to student success and strengthening educational opportunities across the region.
