The United Way of Seneca County’s annual Taste of Spring fundraiser brought in approximately $14,000 to support the organization’s programs and services across the county.

Speaking on FLX Morning on Finger Lakes News Radio, United Way Executive Director Rhonda Jasper said the May 28 event at del Lago Resort & Casino in Waterloo was a success despite drawing a slightly smaller crowd than in previous years.

“Taste of Spring was wonderfully successful,” Jasper said. “It was a smaller group than usual, but a wonderful group.”

Jasper credited the event’s success to strong community support, noting that more than 100 businesses contributed through donations, sponsorships, or vendor participation.

Among the event’s major sponsors were Bill Graham Chevrolet and Summit Federal Credit Union. Jasper also highlighted the contributions of del Lago Resort & Casino and musician Tommy D.

While attendees enjoyed a variety of food and beverage offerings, Jasper said one of the biggest takeaways was the level of participation from local businesses.

“I don’t think we’ve ever had this many businesses participate,” she said.

Jasper said the event demonstrated the ongoing commitment of Seneca County’s business community to supporting local nonprofits and community programs.

She acknowledged that many businesses are facing economic challenges, but said there are numerous ways for organizations and individuals to support the United Way’s mission beyond direct financial contributions.

“There are so many ways that you can support the work we do here and the work we do in Seneca County without having to write a check,” Jasper said.

Taste of Spring is one of the United Way of Seneca County’s largest annual fundraising events, helping generate support for programs and partner agencies that serve residents throughout the county.
