A series of events beginning on Friday will celebrate Pride Month in Auburn.
The Equal Rights Heritage Center has announced an itinerary of events taking place at sites across the city to celebrate the LGBTQ community. Events include special tours, drag shows, and a queer market. A full schedule of events can be found below.
Friday
“My Road to Auburn” Show
Auburn Public Theater, 7PM
“Who is Dominic Gambaiani and how did he get here? Join us at Auburn Public Theater on Friday, June 12th to experience his “Road to Auburn”. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door.”
Saturday
LGBTQIA+ Pride Tours, Drag Show, and Queer Market
NYS Equal Rights Heritage Center, 10AM-1PM
All are welcome to join the City of Auburn for the annual Auburn NY Pride Celebration at the NYS Equal Rights Heritage Center & Auburn NY Visitor Center on Saturday, June 13. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., shop local vendors at the Queer Market with music by DJ Adam Paradise, followed by a family friendly Drag Show featuring performers Ivanna Michaels, Ginger Gigi Diamond, Chevelle. Learn about LGBTQ+ history, hear a speech from Pastor Ben Fitzgerald, and listen to a performance by the famous 19th century actress, Charlotte Cushman. Following the Queer Market and Drag Show, there will be a short march beginning at the Harriet Tubman statue and circling around Seward Park. This event is supported in part by Commemorate 250 funding provided by the City of Auburn’s Historic and Cultural Sites Commission and NYS Equal Rights Heritage Center.

“Charlotte Cushman: Symbol of An Age” Lecture
NYS Equal Rights Heritage Center, 1:30PM-2:30PM
As part of Auburn’s Pride Month commemoration, Seward House Museum’s Director of Education, Jeff Ludwig, will discuss the Seward family’s connections to Charlotte Cushman. A renowned actress of her time, Cushman was also a close Seward family friend and iconic figure in early LGTBQ+ history. Attend this free lecture following the closing of the Queer Market.
Drag Queen Panel
Carriage House Theater, 3PM
Learn what being a drag queen really means within the LGBTQ+ community! All are welcome to attend this interactive event which will be hosted at the Carriage House Theater in the West End Arts Campus.
Pride Drag Show
Auburn Public Theater, 7PM
Auburn Public Theater is proud to present the Pride Drag Show hosted by Ivanna Michaels and Ginger Gigi Diamond. Celebrate Auburn’s Pride Celebration with this special performance that will include a tribute to the victims of the 2016 Pulse Nightclub Massacre in Orlando, FL. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.

Open Mic Night Celebrating Pride
Auburn Public Theater, 7PM
On the Tuesday following Auburn’s Pride Weekend, join us in Stage Right to crack jokes, try out new material, and watch local talent shine onstage—Pride version! Live sound mixing provided. $5 cover. Cash Bar available.

Creative Explorers Family Free Day: Pride Activities

In honor of Pride Month, the Cayuga Museum has focused our Creative Explorers programming around Pride. Join us in creating rainbow suncatchers to celebrate Pride Month. We look forward to having you.
Pride Brunch
Roast and Toast Cafe, 11AM-2PM
Attend the 2nd Annual Pride Brunch at Roast & Toast Cafe. Tickets will include delicious food, a welcome mimosa and an incredible show. A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to the Q Center at ACR Health to support LGBTQIA+ youth and community programs.
