Two Philadelphia men face felony charges after Wyoming County sheriff’s deputies allegedly found more than four ounces of cocaine and nearly $50,000 in cash hidden inside a vehicle.
A sheriff’s sergeant stopped the vehicle on U.S. Route 20A in the Town of Warsaw at approximately 4:43 p.m. July 22 after reportedly observing several traffic violations.
According to the Wyoming County Sheriff’s Office, deputies developed reasonable suspicion that the occupants were involved in criminal activity and began a roadside investigation.
Deputies allegedly discovered approximately 4.4 ounces of cocaine concealed in an aftermarket hidden compartment inside the vehicle. They also reportedly found $49,700 in cash near the drugs. Investigators said the money was concealed and packaged in a manner consistent with criminal activity.
Shareef A. Rudd, 19, and Rahmere D. Boseman, 20, both of Philadelphia, were charged with second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a Class A-II felony, and third-degree money laundering.
Both men were arraigned in Warsaw Town Court and sent to the Wyoming County Jail without bail based on the Class A felony charge. They will be eligible for a bail hearing in Wyoming County Court.
The charges are allegations, and Rudd and Boseman are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
