A second candidate is running a write-in campaign for the Auburn School Board.
Morgan Ames has launched a write-in campaign for one of the three seats up for grabs this year on the Auburn Enlarged City School District’s Board of Education.
A mother of four, Ames graduated from Auburn High School in 2011 and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Le Moyne College. She currently serves as the co-chair of the Herman Ave Elementary PTO and is a member of the CCC Childcare Advisory Board.
“Through both professional and personal community involvement, I have had an opportunity to partake in local efforts to uplift our youth,” Ames stated. “I hope to use my experiences and background to further invest in our upcoming leaders of tomorrow while providing a platform for individuals from all walks of life to feel seen and heard in the Auburn Enlarged City School District.”
Ames joins Matteo Bartolotta as a write-in candidate. Bartolotta, whose current term on the board is expiring, decided to launch a write-in campaign after learning that only two people qualified to appear on the ballot.
Noel Romeo and Melissa Deyneka will be the only two names appearing on the ballot.
Each position carries a three-year term.
The school board election and budget vote will take place on Tuesday. Polls will be open from 7:00a-9:00p.
