If you live in the Villages of Cayuga, Union Springs, or Aurora, you can weigh in on which projects should receive funding as part of the three villages’ joint $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative award.
An online survey has been launched to let residents review and comment on the 29 projects submitted to the Local Planning Committee for possible inclusion in the villages’ Strategic Investment Plan (SIP) to be sent to the state for review.
Projects include developing Aurora Community Park and Boathouse at 170 Main Street, developing apartments at 6200 Center Street in Cayuga, and constructing a pedestrian bridge on Foundry Street in Union Springs.
The committee will select a group of projects from the 29 to be included in the SIP. The state will then determine which of the projects it received will be awarded funding. The SIP will be sent out in December with the state expected to announce the awardees by spring 2025.
Back in February, the three villages were announced as winners of the award aimed at transforming the villages’ downtowns.
