Finalists Named in Auburn School District Superintendent Search

SHARE NOW

Two finalists have been named in the search for the Auburn Enlarged City School District’s next superintendent.

The search process began in January when Superintendent Jeff Pirozzolo announced he would retire on January 5, 2025, after spending over 19 years with the district. A survey was launched to seek community input on the qualifications and characteristics desired of candidates.

The district accepted applications from February 16 through March 15 with nearly 20 candidates applying for the position. This number was narrowed down to five semifinalists who spent an entire day in Auburn to engage with four stakeholder committees of approximately 60 interviewers representing the district and the community at large.

The Board of Education has announced Dr. Misty Slavic and Dr. Tanya Wilson-Thevanesan have been selected as finalists for the position. At the end of the month, both finalists will spend a day in the district for their final interviews.

The board also stated it looks forward to the next steps in the process and is grateful for the continued community support and involvement it has received.
