The Elbridge woman who was shot in the head has died.
60-year-old Donna Cottrill, was shot by her husband 78-year-old Sherman Cottrill on June 25th inside their Kingston Road home.
Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office deputies say after 11 days in the hospital in critical condition, she died Thursday night.
Sherman Cottrill was charged with attempted murder and criminal use of a firearm the day after the shooting. His bail was set at $250,000 cash or $500,000 bond bail.
New charges are expected to be filed.

An Onondaga County man shot his wife in the head Sunday afternoon at their Elbridge home.
60-year-old Doanna Cottrill was taken to Upstate Hospital in critical condition. Onondaga County Sheriff’s Deputies say 79-year-old Sherman Cottrill called Onondaga County 911 to report the incident. Afterwards, he began to feel chest pains and went to Crouse Hospital.
Police say the couple had no prior incidents or any history of domestic violence.
Channel 9 WSYR reports the man told police he shot his wife because “she was bothering him.”
