Auburn’s Hunter Dinerant is going to leave its downtown location over the Owasco River. The Citizen reports the city plans to soon issue a request for proposals to purchase and relocate the diner that has been pearched over the river since 1951.
The city acquired the diner in a tax foreclosure.
City officials say a recent study shows the diner poses a danger if there were a breach up stream of the Mill Street Dam.
City Manager Jeff Dygert will give an update on the diner at tonight’s Auburn City Council meeting.
