Cayuga County Clerk Brian Scanlan has announced an update on the Cayuga County Department of Motor Vehicles and Clerk’s Office.
Both offices will be closed Wednesday for the Juneteenth holiday.
When it reopens on Thursday, the DMV will be able to take appointments for most services at its temporary location at the Public Safety Building at 7445 County House Rd, Sennett. It was announced last week that the DMV would utilize the building’s front conference room as its temporary home allowing it to conduct in-person transactions.
Scanlan would like to remind the public that, after entering the driveway, they should stay to the right and use the front parking lot. From there, they may enter through the front door.
The clerk’s office is able to receive mail at the county historian’s office, located at 10 Court St in Auburn.
Appointments can be made at cayugacounty.us or by calling 315-253-1271. Walk-ins will also be accepted.
Certain transactions, such as passports, cannot be completed until the clerk’s office is able to retrieve equipment from the county office building.
Due to possible asbestos and structural damage, the county office building will remain closed until roof repairs can be made, something anticipated to last until the end of August.
