SHARE NOW

Upcoming events will give you the chance to meet the two people vying to become Cayuga County’s newest family court judge.

Republican and Conservative candidate and attorney, Steven Buschman, will be at A.T. Walley & Co. in Auburn from 5:00-7:00p on Thursday for the grand opening of the business’ new patio. Attendees will be able to meet with Buschman as well as pick up yard signs.

Hon. Judge Kristin Garland, the Democratic candidate and current associate city court judge, will also hold a meet & greet on Thursday at nearby Moondog’s Lounge. From 5:30-8:00p, attendees will be able to speak with the candidate, pick up yard signs, and learn how to support her campaign. Music will be provided by A Cast of Thousands.

Each candidate will hold events the following week as well.

Garland’s campaign will hold a meet & greet in Aurora on Wednesday, September 25, from 5:00-7:00p. Attendees are asked to RSVP by emailing [email protected] to receive directions for the event.

On Saturday, September 28, Buschman will hold a meet & greet at Tinker’s Guild in Auburn. Running from 5:00-7:00p, music will be provided by No Filter.

In an effort to reduce the backlog of cases in courts across the state, Governor Kathy Hochul signed legislation in July to add 28 new judges to the state’s court system thus creating the new family court judge position in Cayuga County to be voted on during the general election.

Early voting runs from October 25 through November 3 and Election Day is Tuesday, November 5.
