One local Boy Scout troop is helping to fight hunger in Cayuga County.

Owasco Troop 21 will host its Scouting for Food drive from 8:30a-1:00p on Saturday, November 1, at the Owasco Fire Department. The drive will take place at the back of the building.

The scouts are specifically requesting canned meats, tuna, canned fruits, vegetables, cereal, baby food, formula, beef stew, soups, peanut butter, jelly, pasta, canned meals, powdered milk, snacks, and granola bars. Frozen items or items in glass containers cannot be accepted.

Items collected at the drive will be distributed to area food pantries.
