Auburn Music Boosters are looking to make playing an instrument more accessible to students across the district. The group has announced it will be collecting instruments for families who cannot afford to rent or purchase one.
Allison Fennessy with the boosters says that the cost to rent or buy an instrument can be prohibitively expensive for some families, so those donated to the boosters will allow more students to either to take up an instrument.
She added that, if the school budget passes, instrumental lessons will be made available to fourth graders again, meaning more students will be need of instruments.
Band instruments, such as trumpets, clarinets, and violins, can be dropped off at any spring concert in the district or arrangements can be made for alternate drop offs by emailing [email protected].
