19 area law enforcement and emergency service personnel recently completed crisis intervention training.
A collaboration between the Cayuga County Sheriff’s Office and the Cayuga County Mental Health Department, the course trains first responders on how to help those suffering from mental illness in crisis situations. The course also helps build partnerships between law enforcement, healthcare providers, and human services to guide those in crisis toward proper treatment.
