Longtime Brutus Town Supervisor Hotaling Passes Away

The Town of Brutus is mourning the loss of longtime Town Supervisor James Hotaling, who was remembered this week for his years of dedicated public service and leadership.

In a statement released on behalf of the Town Board, town employees, and residents, Deputy Supervisor Amy Chirco said Hotaling served the community with unwavering dedication and a strong commitment to improving the town.

“Jim served the residents of Brutus with thoughtful leadership and a genuine commitment to the community,” Chirco said. “He devoted countless hours to the work of the town, always striving to make Brutus a better place for its residents while keeping an eye toward the future.”

Town officials said Hotaling’s contributions helped shape the community and that the impact of his leadership will continue to be felt for years to come.

The town also expressed its condolences to Hotaling’s family and loved ones, noting that his legacy of public service will remain an enduring part of the Town of Brutus.

“Jim will be remembered with gratitude and respect for all he gave to the community he proudly served,” the statement said.
