On Tuesday, Thomas Crawford III was arrested by the Auburn Police Department following an investigation into thefts at a local business.

The investigation began on February 18 when the SK Post, located at 168 State Street, reported that an employee had been stealing from the establishment. Authorities allege that while working, Crawford stole several instant-win lottery tickets, known as “pull tabs,” along with the proceeds from winning tickets on numerous occasions.

Police report that the total value of the stolen lottery tickets and proceeds amounted to $2,079.50. Crawford was charged with Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, which is a class E felony.

Crawford was processed on the charge and released with an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to answer the charge in Auburn City Court at a later date.
