The Cayuga County Health Department and the Greater Cayuga SPCA will host a free rabies vaccination clinic on Friday, July 31, 2026, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 41 York St. in Auburn.

The clinic is open to dogs, cats, and ferrets four months of age and older. Attendees must ensure dogs are leashed and muzzled if necessary, while cats and ferrets must be in carriers, with only one animal per carrier.

To receive a three-year rabies vaccine, pet owners must present proof of prior vaccination; rabies tags are not considered acceptable proof. Ferrets will receive one-year vaccination certificates.

The Greater Cayuga SPCA was formerly known as the Finger Lakes SPCA of Central New York.

While pre-registration for the clinic is preferred, it is not required and is available online. For more information, contact the Greater Cayuga SPCA at 315-253-5841.
