Cornell Cooperative Extension of Seneca County 4-H and the Waterloo Library & Historical Society will host “Artemis II: Returning to the Moon, then on to Mars” on Friday, April 24, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Waterloo Library.
The event will be held in Fatzinger Hall at the Waterloo Library, 31 East Williams Street. Cornell University’s Spacecraft Planetary Image Facility Manager, Zoe Learner Ponterio, will share information about the Artemis II mission and space travel, answer questions, and lead hands-on activities, including viewing actual images taken by the Mars Rover through virtual reality goggles. The event is free and open to both kids and adults.
“We are so lucky to have a great working relationship with Cornell University in so many diverse topics,” said Karen Burcroff, CCE Seneca 4-H Educator. “It really is something special to bring experts into our community. Who knows what space travel will look like throughout our youth’s lives. You never know—we might have a future astronaut living right here!”
Registration is requested, but walk-ins are welcome. Register online at www.senecacountycce.org. Those without internet access can call the CCE Seneca office at 315-539-9251.
