Reliant Credit Union continues its dedication to helping students in the Finger Lakes put their best feet forward! Reliant recently donated 58 pairs of sneakers to Brockport Central School District. The sneakers will be given to students at Barclay Elementary School.

This is the first donation this year for Reliant’s Feet Forward program, a special community effort Reliant created in 2016, through which the credit union partners with area schools and organizations to provide quality sneakers to kids who need them. For the sixth year in a row, Reliant is collaborating with Jonathan Griffiths, owner of Rochester Running Company, who helped facilitate the credit union’s purchase of an array of high-quality sneakers so that the credit union could donate them to children who otherwise wouldn’t have access to quality footwear.

“Feet Forward is about more than just new shoes—it’s about giving kids the confidence to move through life with pride,” said Pamela Heald, President & CEO of Reliant. “Through our collaboration with schools and community partners, we’re investing in their well-being and future success.”

Since Reliant started Feet Forward in 2016, the credit union has donated 2,516 pairs of sneakers—a total investment of over $75,000 to help local children.

“We’re honored to have been selected for this extremely generous donation, which will directly support so many of our students. Each pair of sneakers represents more than just new shoes-they represent confidence, care, and community,” said Alana Schiller, a Brockport Central School District Social Worker. “At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to our students, and gestures like this help us continue fostering a culture of respect, inclusion, and dignity. We’re deeply grateful to Reliant for their incredible generosity.”
