A fundraiser this Sunday will honor the lives of the two Onondaga County Law Enforcement Officers killed in April in Salina.
Paint the Zoo Blue will be held Sunday from 5:30-9:00p at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo in Syracuse.
All proceeds from the event will go to the families of Syracuse Police Officer Michael Jensen and Onondaga County Sheriff’s Luitenant Michael Hoosock. Both men were killed on April 14 while investigating a car complaint in Salina.

“Everything that’s raised, from ticket sales to raffle sales, all of that will be split between the families,” said Dunsmoor.
She added that the event will have something for everyone.
“It’s a day of fun, very family friends. There will be raffles, food trucks, and beverage vendors; then you have the zoo as your playground for the length of the event.”
Local food trucks, wineries, and distilleries attending the event include Via Napoli Express, Carraba’s Italian Grill Skippy’s Ice Cream, Leo’s Donuts, Elm Street Tacos, Exhale Cafe & Bake Shop, Bob Barkers, Limp Lizard Ma & Pa’s Popcorn, Kona Ice, Phat Kat Tacos, Heritage Hill, Ashley Lynn Winery, Lock One Distillery, and Beak & Skiff.
Tickets include food, drinks, access to the zoo and other activities, and access to raffles and silent auctions at the vent. Tickets must be ordered in advance and can be done here.
