No injuries were reported following a crash involving a Hilton-Parma Fire District vehicle Tuesday night.
According to the Hilton-Parma Fire District, the incident occurred around 8 p.m. at the intersection of North Avenue (Route 259) and Curtis Road.
Officials say Fire Engine 262, staffed with five volunteer firefighters, was returning from a prior emergency response and traveling southbound on Route 259 with the right of way when a passenger vehicle entered the intersection from Curtis Road, resulting in a collision.
The passenger vehicle was carrying four occupants at the time of the crash.
Despite significant damage to both vehicles, no firefighters were injured. All four occupants of the passenger vehicle were evaluated at the scene and declined medical transport after signing refusal forms.
Additional units from Hilton Fire, Monroe Ambulance, and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office responded to secure the scene, assess those involved, and ensure public safety.
Authorities say the incident remains under review.
Fire district officials expressed gratitude that no serious injuries occurred and reaffirmed their commitment to the safety of both personnel and the community.
