CNY Rep Brandon Williams Facing Post Surgery Complications

SHARE NOW

A Central New York Congressman and Cayuga County resident is in a Washington DC hospital due to complications after having heart surgery two weeks ago.

According to his communications director, Taylor Weyeneth, Representative Brandon Williams will miss votes for the rest of the week as he recovers with his family at George Washington University Hospital following heart bypass surgery at St. Joseph’s Hospital on July 12th.

“Doctors are pleased with the pace of the Congressman’s recovery from his surgery,” said Weyeneth. “However, a complication has arisen that requires immediate treatment and will prevent the Congressman from fulfilling his House duties for the remainder of the week. He is resting with his family and is being treated by experts at George Washington University Hospital. We fully expect Rep. Williams to continue on his path towards recovery. No further comment will be given at this time to respect the privacy of the Congressman and his family—giving him the time necessary to fully heal and resume his full schedule on behalf of the people of Central New York and the Mohawk Valley.”

Williams lives in Sennett and represents the 22nd Congressional District which includes all of Onondaga, Madison, and Oneida Counties plus part of Oswego County.
