Applications Open for Service Academy Nominations

SHARE NOW

Applications are open for students in the 24th Congressional District looking to join one of the nation’s military service academies.

Congresswoman Claudia Tenney has announced that she is accepting applications for a congressional nomination for four of the nation’s five service academies – the US Air Force Academy, the US Naval Academy, the US Merchant Marine Academy, and the US Military Academy (West Point). The Coast Guard Academy does not require nominations.

As a congressional representative, Tenney is allowed to nominate students for the aforementioned academies.

Attendees are required to serve a minimum of five years in the military.

Those interested in applying for a nomination are asked to visit Tenney’s website to find the requisite forms and documents. Anyone with questions is asked to contact Tenney’s Oswego at (315) 236-7088 or visit the website for more information.

In December, Tenney announced that 13 students had been nominated to attend the academies, including
Evan Moore and Ebon Brown of Cayuga County and Brandan Laity and Griffin Garnot of Ontario County.
