After initially being charged with attempted murder, a Steuben County man is now charged with murdering his sister after she died from an alleged assault the two were involved in at a home in Erwin.
Police responded to the residence late Tuesday afternoon and found 60-year-old Heather Moran suffering from injuries received during an altercation with 59-year-old John Marvin, the Second. State Police say Marvin is accused of striking his sister in the head repeatedly with a cast iron skillet while she sat in the kitchen and ate with their 81-year-old father, whom they both took care of. Their father attempted to stop his son from the assault but fell to the ground after standing up from his wheelchair. He was unharmed but was taken to Corning Hospital for a checkover.
Moran was airlifted to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre and passed away on Wednesday afternoon
Marvin was sent to Steuben County Jail without bail following his arraignment on the felony murder charge
