Charges were filed this week against the driver of a car that was involved in an accident in Yates County this summer.
The investigation by the Sheriff’s Office revealed that 20-year-old Sabastian Stahlman, of Canandaigua, failed to round a curve on County House Road in Jerusalem, went off the road, and struck two trees during the early morning hours of August 20th. Stahlman’s passenger, 19-year-old Scott Shoff, of Penn Yan, was extricated out of the car by Branchport/Keuka Park firefighters. Both men were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester for treatment of undisclosed injuries.
Stahlman was charged Wednesday with assault and vehicular assault, both felonies, as well as driving while intoxicated, speeding, and failing to wear a seat belt.
Stahlman was released on an appearance ticket.
