A Canandaigua man previously under arrest by the Canandaigua Police Department is now facing a new charge out of Ontario County following a continued probe by local authorities.
On July 15th, the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Division arrested 70-year-old David Bellis on a new felony charge after executing a search warrant at his home in the Town of Bristol. Investigators, with assistance from the Canandaigua Police Department, seized a large quantity of cocaine and cash during the search.
As a result, Bellis was charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree with intent to sell—a new charge stemming from the ongoing investigation.
He was transported to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment and later released. Bellis is scheduled to appear in Bristol Town Court at a future date to answer the charge.
he fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
