A 70-year-old Canandaigua man has been arrested following a joint investigation into drug sales in the city and the surrounding area.
City Police say David Bellis was taken into custody on Tuesday and charged with one count of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree. The arrest stems from a month-long investigation by the Canandaigua Police Department and the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, which alleges Bellis sold narcotics to another person on multiple occasions.
He was processed without incident and transported for arraignment.
Police say additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
The fact that a defendant has been charged with a crime is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
